'The Year's End'

Spring sunshine
The sun is out, bulbs are sprouting, and birds are singing.
The snowdrops at Wildegoose Nursery are wonderful and whilst the nursery and garden is closed, you will see some lovely photos if you sign up to their newsletter.
I have been there sketching on my own in preparation for the exhibition in September, but I also have two Spring dates for Sketch with Mary days. There are just 8 places on each day and you can book here on the Workshop page.
I have more exciting news as I have been invited to exhibit with General Office Gallery in Stourbridge in March - opening on the 19th March and closing on the 30th March, more info below. It would be lovely to see you there!
I will also be drawing and painting in and around Cantlop and beyond for my online shop, next drop will be at the end of March.
As always, a big thank you to all of you wonderful customers, I hope you will enjoy following my progress and hopefully come to the exhibitions at General Office Gallery in March, and at Wildegoose later in September.
Thank you, with love, Mary x

The Garden
When we moved into the Shippen, the garden was a grassed area bordered by a traditional mixed hedge. It was a blank canvas. Wildegoose Nursery planned and planted a wonderful mix of perennials that have matured into a haven for birds and insects.
Seasonal sketches of the garden will be for sale in the Garden Collection and Available Work.

Cantlop
Cantlop is the geographic centre of Shropshire. The name was first recorded in the Domesday Book as Cantelop and could have been named by Norman knights, from chante lou (sing wolf). These days it is a slightly untidy group of houses, converted barns and farms, and is pleasantly unremarkable. Ancient field names indicate the character of the site or the owners registration.
